Ben Brownson will be playing the role of Gib, the sweetheart of the shepherds.
Benjamin is excited to be returning to the stage after a prolonged hiatus from acting. In the past, he has performed in three national theatre tours across 24 states, as well as a world premiere translation of Antigone in Oxford, England. Originally from Michigan, he moved to Chicago two years ago to earn his MA from the University of Chicago and is thrilled to continue to call the city his home. As a playwright, his work has been performed by Chicago Dramatists (where he is a network playwright) and the InchWorm Playreading Series. Last year he conceived and directed Two Faces of Salome, an evening with Oscar Wilde and the Bible at Rockefeller Chapel on the campus of the University of Chicago. Most recently, he assistant directed Theatre Seven of Chicago’s Hunting and Gathering with Brian Golden. When not creating or staging theatre he is advocating for it as Director of Audience Services for Theatre Seven of Chicago and Assistant Box Office Manager at Court Theatre in Hyde Park.
